Not off to a good start!!

Okay, I am sorry to admit that I didn't get the pictures I promised to. I will work on it! They will be posted on the weekend at the latest, I hope! I've been enjoying reading blogs lately on organization. Anyone who knows me is probably laughing pretty hard right now! I am the most unorganized person you could know, but I want to change that. Correction, I need to change that! As the three boys get older, things get more chaotic and I can't find what I really need, when I really need it! I am inspired by reading blogs by other moms on the topic. I really like "I'm an Organizing Junkie" at http://www.orgjunkie.com/ Lots of great ideas for any budget, as well as tons of ideas for meal planning, yet another place I am lacking! I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of baskets and am working on getting my linen/bathroom items closet organized. Next is the kitchen, it really needs it. We are trying to think of ways to convert a large open shelving unit into a pantry unit. It should be a fun project and really help to organize the kitchen as we have very limited cupboard space, and much cheaper than buying one. I looked at buying a pantry and they are over a hundred dollars and they are so small, only 24" wide. Today Joseph had his check up and immunization with the health nurse. He did well, she said he is very ready for school and he didn't cry or even flinch when he got his shots, just said "ow". He is growing so fast! I just realized I forgot to take something for supper out of the freezer and we have Bible study tonight, should be interesting, trying to come up with a meal on short notice and no time to do it! See what I mean about meal planning?

Well, again I have been pretty slack in posting! I've actually been pretty caught up in reading other peoples blogs and it has inspired me to start posting again. Hopefully I'll keep it up and do it more regularly but no promises! I will have to bring some pictures tomorrow to post, like ones from Jim's ordination. Jim got ordained on April 22/08. It was quite an adventure, not in a good way! Just as we arrived in Saint John, NB, Joseph started throwing up (and didn't stop for two weeks) and not long after Andrew started. I spent the whole trip in the Hotel cleaning up after them. I have to thank Julia, she stayed in the Hotel with Joseph so I could attend Jim's ordination, so thanks!! It was a nice service and I am so proud of Jim for sticking it out through all the hard times he has had and he is now a Reverend. Joseph is preparing for his full day of school on May 23/08. It is an orientation day and he'll meet his teacher and see what it is like to be gone all day. Here in Nova Scotia, they start full time in Kindergarten, or Primary as it is called here. He is pretty excited but it is strange for me. He is my baby and I can't believe he is going to school full time in September, and there is no baby behind him. There is always another baby but not now, very strange. I guess at some point you have to move on to the next stage of life but I'm not sure I'm ready! Spring is finally here and I have flowers popping up all over the place. I'll take some pics tonight and post them tomorrow (you know, when I'm supposed to be working!) not much yet but nice to see signs of warmer weather. Today is cool but a beautiful sunny day (after a few days of very heavy rain). I got a Chimnea for mother's day (outdoor fireplace thingy) and we tried to light it last night but the weather isn't nice enough yet. It is much to windy here! We'll try again when the weather is nicer and the wind has calmed some. Nathanael is considering going to kids camp this summer, he'll have fun there. Andrew and Joseph have both registered for soccer and Nathanael will sign up for baseball again. It will be busy but they love it and it keeps them active. At least Andrew and Joseph will play at the same time on the same team. We are planning a big trip to New York this August. We are taking the boys to a Wiggles concert on Long Island and then we'll do some sight seeing (not sure if we'll have the courage to venture into New York City) and then maybe go up to PEI. We have our Wiggles tickets and the boys are so excited! I am looking forward to the fall too as Jim's parents are coming to visit! Fran has been here once before when Jojo was born but His dad hasn't so Jim is pretty happy that he is coming too! I hope they get to stay for a nice long visit! We don't get to see family enough and a week just isn't long enough!! We are so excited too that Jim's brother is expecting a little boy in a few weeks! Yes, another boy. Between Jim and his brother there will now be 5 boys and no girls! Good thing we love our boys! Anyway, I suppose it is time to get some work done, since I'm being paid and all. I don't even know if anyone reads this but if so, remind me to post once and awhile! Miss you all!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!


We did some Christmas decorating at the church on Saturday and sang our first carol at church on Sunday. I have to admit, it has gotten me in the mood for Christmas. I am usually the one that says, "No christmas anything until December!" I find each year, as the boys get older, I am getting in to Christmas earlier and earlier! Not that I didn't get into Christmas before, it is just it hits so early in the stores that I would get tired of the carols and decorations by the time Christmas finally came! Now I find that it doesn't bother me anymore, I am ready. I think I feed off of the boy's excitement! But at the end of it all, the most important part is celebrating Christ's birth, and I never get tired of that! We still have a few decorations to put up at the church, once it is done I'll post a pic on here as it looks really nice! The boys decorated the tree and really loved doing it. Now they are all ready to do our tree. We decided to get a real tree this year so they will have to wait for a while, I haven't even seen any for sale yet. People here really love to decorate and I see the outside decorations up already at some places. I am curious as to whether we will have a white or green Christmas this year. We had one white Christmas the whole time we've been here! They boys would love a white one I'm sure, I could go either way! Anyway, I see I still need to get some more pics of the boys on here that are more recent and I will get to that. When I can find a spare moment! Thanks for reading!

Ya Right!

I just took a few minutes to go back and read all my past posts over the last year. I laugh now at how many times I've said "It has been a long time since I last posted" That's a good one, classic! I should go back and count how many times I said that in one form or another! I noticed too that I promised pictures of the boys and christmas cards mailed! Still laughing with me now? Sorry they never made it! I "plan" to do it this year! I'd better get started huh? I still haven't even booked the picture session for the boys. I'd better do that while I'm thinking of it. Nasty weather here lately, my office door keeps blowing open, hard to keep warm! At least we don't have snow yet! Long Time No Post!!

It has been so long since I posted here. I have to admit, I'm addicted to facebook and that has been my "blog" since the summer. Sorry to those who aren't on facebook that would appreciate an update on here every once in a while! The summer was great but went too fast. Loved the visit from Dad, Sylvia and Grandma and Grandpa. I miss everyone so much that is was so nice to touch base with family again. It was really hard to let them go! We did a lot of fun stuff while they were here and I want to thank them for an amazing week, it was the highlight of the summer. We got to do a lot this summer! We had a great time in PEI visiting our dear friends and we went to Maine for a day too. Next was the start of school. Andrew started his first year in french immersion. He seems to like it and is doing very well, I'm so proud of him. Nathanael started grade 4 and has been doing very well. I can't believe how fast he has been growing. Joseph turned 4 in September. Next September he'll be in school and they will be all gone in the day. That will make a quiet house for Jim, ideal for working. Nathanael turned 9 in this month and Andrew will be 6 at the end of the month. I just can't believe how fast time goes these days. Doesn't it seem to just crawl by when you are a kid and fly at super speed when you are an adult? Sure feels that way. During the weekend I'll post some pictures including the new school pics! Well I finally finished our bathroom. It was a lot of work, stripping off the old wallpaper and such but I think it looks so much better and a lot brighter! The old wallpaper made it so dark and it is a small bathroom so it needed brightening up. Here are the before and after pics of one wall, the before picture was taken while I was in the middle of the job so that is why it is so messy and some of the paper already looks peeled.

Here are the photos of the new Chevrolet HHR. It is so nice to drive, we just got back from PEI and Maine and we had so much fun and the car was great! These pics were taken before we left and now the car needs a good scrubbing, full of baked on bugs!

Hi Everyone,
It has been a very long time since my last post. I have been so busy. Winter has finally morphed into spring, even if it has taken way too long. I've been planting flowers and such but still need to plant the garden. We actually had pretty thick frost last thursday so around here most people plant around June 1st. We had a member in our church pass away, that was hard and emotional. The boys are growing like weeds. Andrew goes to school for a full day on June 5th for his orientation. I'll be sure to post pics, he is pretty excited. He will be in french immersion. Joseph is going to be so lonely and bored with his two big brothers gone all day. Just him and Daddy will be home now. Hard to believe he'll be 4 already this September! This time next year he'll be getting ready for his orientation day! I am having some tests done but I may have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, so we'll see what happens with that. I'm so excited that Dad and Sylvia and my grandparents are all coming to visit at the end of July, I can't wait. Oh, big news! The boys will be going to PEI to stay with Gerrard and Julia for almost a week! That will be strange not having any of them here for that long! We'll go over and join them after but I hope they enjoy it and don't miss us too much! Who am I kidding! I hope they do miss us (I'll miss them like crazy) but I hope they don't cry and still have a good time. I'll use that time to paint the bathroom and maybe go through their toys while they aren't there to protest what ever I get rid of! Anyway, I'll try and post some new pics by the weekend. Hi Everyone.

I noticed it has been a while since I last did a post! Not too much new right now, just very busy! Spring is slowly coming and has melted a lot of the snow and ice but we had some freezing rain last night and it made for a slippery morning. I slipped on the cement stairs (I managed to keep myself from falling but I'm sure I looked funny!) and then I had trouble braking because of ice on the brakes! It is all water now and seems to be staying warmer though we have a winter storm warning on us right now! Eventually it will be nice again, I hope! Today is Jim's 32and birthday. He got a lot of books that he wanted, some clothes, music, toys and a movie so lots for him to do! If we don't get the bad weather they are calling for then we'll go to Boston Pizza in Antigonish for supper and do some shopping while there. Nathanael is off from school right now for spring break but is back at it on monday, he's not looking forward to that! In May we are going on a trip for a few days, Jim has to go for district conference so we'll go with him as I have to take the time off work anyway to be with the boys. It will be nice to get away for a few days. Oh, Jim got something in the mail saying he can perform marriages in Nova Scotia. I think that is because our church is the only of its denomination in our town, they did the same thing when we lived in the Yukon. When he is ordained he'll be able to do marriages anywhere. Not that we know anyone getting married but nice to know!
